The Mavericks interior design was quite simply inspired by the owners meticulous love and precision for the art of molecular cooking and the joy of eating. The ambience strikes an elegant balance between a casual, international café, fine dining and a comfortable regional style of design.

The interior design concept focuses on the food and the retail like display of the unique culinary offerings. The main conceptual or signature element is uniquely inspired by the industrial wood crates used for shipping Thai rice from the north of Thailand to the shipping yards in Bangkok. One entire side of the long deep space is floor to ceiling, random stacked wooden rice crates displaying wines, liquors, products, foods and the owner’s collection of international cook books. The wooden crates then wrap from wall to ceiling creating a coffered ceiling of wooden crates utilized for lighting and services. Floor to ceiling neutral light beige panels of hand troweled Italian plaster offer a counter balance to the meticulously detailed and crafted wooden crate display and ceiling.

The storefront is a combination of clear and opaque dark glass panels creating a subtle, mysterious, yet inviting façade by day and soft, amber glow by night. The restaurant is spatially divided into three zones : the front bakery, café and bar, the seated fine dining area and the special chef¹s table at the kitchen where patrons can view and interact with the specialist molecular chefs, bakers, and sommelier. Surrounded by wine racks displaying an international selection of fine wines, proseccos and liquors.

Custom, locally fabricated tables, chairs, DJ table and banquet seating of teak woods, warm fabrics and textured leathers balance the industrial polished terrazzo flooring and composite stone bar counters. Video screens above the fine dining and visible from the café provide a welcoming distraction of culinary creations changing daily. The lighting is a comfortable balance of warm ambient down lights, cove lighting, custom pendants of wire mesh and focused accent lighting.

The overall ambience is a causal, café industrial warmed by the signature wooden crate design elements, tanned and sanded tone fabrics successfully combined with an edgy molecular fine dining of which there is no match in Bangkok and perhaps Asia.
