The project is envisioned as a transporting journey. The site is located near Layan Beach, Bang Tao on the west side of Phuket Island. It is adjacent to an existing Klong fed by the tidal surge of the Andaman Sea and a fifteen minute small craft journey from the Bang Tao bay. The design proposes extending the existing Klong into the site and will be naturally fed by the tide. Villa owners can moor their private yachts in the bay and take a small motored craft along the winding Klong and dock at their personal villa. Hotel guests may also arrive by small craft or by land just a fifteen minute automobile drive from Phuket airport. A unique and densely layered, transporting experience unlike any in Phuket is created by this unique arrival: traditional like the Thai water settlements, yet modern in architectural design. It is an alternative method of arrival, stay and departure for the villa owner or guests. Traditional Thai water settlements and classic Asian designed gardens inspire the master planning where urban walled urban gardens are introspective and internalized. An original 'tropical industrial' style architecture rich form and in naturally weathering material capture an element of time and enhance the experience of a journey. The results are an alternative and very unique living experience for Phuket.
