Following are our FIRST DRAFT studies of the Hilton Doubletree site, Coastal City.
ANALYSIS (Observations):
• Golf course a major asset for landscape, activities, etc.
• Emphasis on Golf as greatest asset - for function, views, adjacency
• Beach front not ideal Negative views to west Void of significant Local culture.
• Optimal views are to the west overlooking the golf course and south to mountains and temple. (West views compromised)
• Site access issues and connectivity to Entertainment and commercial sites necessary; particularly the golf course.
• Consider some modifications to land allocation placement.
MASTERPLAN OBJECTIVES:
• Create a Resort entrance and environment - (for the Golfing community + Family)
• Optimize views and natural ventilation (Avoid the bad views to the west)
• Optimize the commercial use of space with adjacent sites (Entertainment park + Commercial Complex)
• Optimize adjacency to the lake - and lake use (Aqua concept)
• Optimize water edge - functionally and visually. Alter the lake edge / shape - by displacement.
• Optimize the site access from three directions.
• Optimize the masterplan circulation - between building uses, access, automobile, services loading, buses, Buggies and pedestri ans.
• Hanoi City Lake reference -bridge and temple island Create Islands
• Optimize the INTERNAL views within the site (as views outward are limited - not beachfront (brown water)
• Maintain the basic land allocation and Zoning - with suggested alterations.
HOTEL: OBJECTIVES:
• Create a resort environment with public areas adjacent / connected to the lake
• Optimize the Hotel Planning - with centralized Kitchen and services
• Optimize the Hotel Room shape to offer best views
• Material Reference to local culture
• Maintain low rise, resort massing. Maximum 6 floors in height.
